Associate Editor
Corporate Knights is seeking an associate editor to participate in and support all stages of the publication process. This is a dynamic role that supports the managing editor in delivering leading-edge sustainability-driven editorial across all Corporate Knights platforms, including our flagship quarterly print magazine, website, social media and other outputs.
The ideal candidate will be a proficient editor and writer and a stickler for quality control with a creative sensibility and strong sustainability literacy. We’re looking for a self-starter with a passion for changing the world and a track record for working collaboratively. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative and energetic team, using data and editorial to help accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage daily web production (post stories, deploy SEO best practices)
- Write features and news briefs
- Edit online and print stories and help generate story assignments
- Assist with social media posts and weekly newsletter
- Perform other duties that may be required to support the successful operation of Corporate Knights editorial
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field
- 5+ years' experience in online and/or print journalism, including experience with sustainability/business reporting
- Strong, demonstrable writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with SEO and social media platforms
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects
- Keen interest in sustainability issues is essential
- Experience with WordPress and Mailchimp is an asset
COMPENSATION: Base salary ($70,000 to $75,000) commensurate with experience. Corporate Knights offers a competitive benefits package.
LOCATION: Hybrid/Remote depending on location.
HOURS: Full-time. Evening and weekend work may be required occasionally to meet quarterly magazine deadlines.
